Week of 9/14: Chapter 6
Mon: Have read 6.1 or watched the Review of Basic Chemistry Podcast, we will review chemistry basics, focusing on the structure, characteristics of water (6.1 and 6.3)
Tues: Have read/watched 6.2, We will discuss chemical reactions in general, the structure and function of water
Wed:Have read/watched 6.3, we will wrap up our discussion from Tuesday and discuss energetics of chemical reactions (6.2). Today you will be given a HW assignment due on Friday. Check out Properties of Water and Water-Liquid Awesome for more help understanding the role of water in biology.
Thurs: Have read/watched all of 6.4, 6.4.2, 6.4.3. We will wrap up our water, polar molecule/non-polar molecule conversation today and discuss chemical reactions in general, categories of organic macromolecules (6.4)
Friday: Quiz 3 (1.1 and 6.1-6.3, maybe a little 6.4), HW DUE (index card), we will continue our discussion from Thursday (6.2 and 6.4), Review enzymes in text and/or watch 6.2.2 Podcast by Monday

Week of 9/8: Chapters 1.1 and 6:
- Chapter 1.1: We will discuss the dynamic definition of life and the characteristics we use to determine if something should be classified as life. We will also overview the themes of the course and consider what we study as Biologists.
- Chapter 6: we will start a discussion about the chemistry of life that will continue into next week.
